SC Wing Encampment '09
McCrady - 28 June - 5 July
The SC Wing will hold its 2009 Summer encampment at McCrady Army National Guard Training Center June 28 to July 5. The cost for this event is $90, which includes all meals. Cadets should arrive at McCrady between 1200 and 1600 June 28. The Pass In Review and graduation ceremony will be held at 1200 July 5. The event will conclude at 1300 July 5.
Be a CyberPatriot!
CyberPatriot is a cyber defense competition that tests the ability of the students to defend a simulated corporate network from external hostile attacks. But, it is far more than just a competition. It is designed to educate and motivate your cadets to become the cyber defenders the nation needs while promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The next generation of cyber defenders will compete in qualifying rounds in the fall to vie for one of the coveted slots to travel to Orlando for the CyberPatriot II National Championship, scheduled for 18-19 February 2010.

Scholarships available!
Are you wondering which national cadet special activity you want to attend next year? If you go to the Evergreen Air Academy, the SC Wing may foot the bill for you! Wing Commander Col. Emerson Smith has announced that the wing will sponsor one cadet to attend Evergreen in 2009. This activity is held at the Evergreen Aviation Museum, the home of the "Spruce Goose," in Oregon. The academy is a tremendous introduction to the business of aviation. Just apply to attend the activity. (The National Cadet Special Activity Web site is here.) Then the wing will choose an SC cadet who has been accepted to the activity and pay fees and transportation for that cadet.
